CTW08: Postive Impact (UK) & Al Harah (Palestine)
Monday 28 July 7.30pm
£6/£4
Liverpool’s Positive Impact & Bethlehem's Al Harah Theatre Gang have been twinned to create a brand-new theatre double-bill for Contacting The World in Liverpool as part of the city's Capital of Culture celebrations.
Positive Impact (UK)
So You Think You Know?
Positive Impact put the spotlight on several young individuals facing obstacles that life can unfairly throw at people. So You Think You Know? helps to identify that sometimes the difference in race, gender, affluence, sexuality and judgment can become man’s biggest wall to breach. With stereotyping and prejudice you may think you know, but you have no idea.
Positive Impact is a creative and innovative performing arts organisation and production company which primarily works with young people from black and minority backgrounds in Liverpool. It currently has a thriving youth theatre, offering training in all aspects of performing/creative arts as well as formal accreditation in the form of the Arts Award.
Performed in English.
Al Harah Gang (Palestine)
Face Hook?!
Face Hook?! uses dance to reflect the obstacles and difficulties that Palestinian young people face on daily basis in their lives. Using video projection of work created in the last six months, Face Hook?! explores the things we face that hook us in our lives.
Al Harah Theatre Gang is part of Al Harah Theatre in Beit Jala. It aims to produce theatre that is well crafted, moving, challenging yet accessible and, essentially honest. Al Harah Theatre is currently developing the first school of theatre in Palestine.
Performed in English.
