Discovering New Avenues (D.N.A)
The MCand DJ project we did in Harpurhey for young people who aren’t in education, employment or training saw them working with DJ Chimpo, MC JSD (Virus syndicate), and MC Chunky (Hit N Run/The Steppahs) on producing recording and designing their own CD.
We worked closely with North Manchester’s youth inclusion project (Crime Concern) and addressed a lot of issues that the young people felt strongly about.
They have all achieved the PEARL qualification and since the initiative took place some of them have also taken part in other projects here at Contact.
