Logo Design Competition

Thursday 15 April

Deadline for designs: Monday, 26th April 2010

Calling all budding young designers! Contact are very pleased to be working with the Opal Foundation - a charity dedicated to supporting underprivileged children, enhancing their lives and giving them opportunities that may not have been ordinarily open to them. The foundation is looking for a new logo that reflects their mission and would like to invite young people from Manchester and beyond to create an original design. The competition is open to young people aged 15 - 25 and the Opal Foundation will award £100 prize money to the winning entry. The deadline for you to send us your design is 26th April 2010 – so have a think about the guidelines below, get creative & good luck!

Logo design requirements:

Your design needs to include the words Opal Foundation

You need to utilise the Opal green colour (pantone reference 349)

Technical guidelines to think about…

The logo will be used online and offline, on letterheads, brochures, webpages and sweatshirts

The logo will need to be reproduced economically, which means it’s better to use fewer colours

The logo will need to be visible and clear when reduced, the current logo is 55mm wide x 35mm high

The logo will need to be visible and clear when printed in mono (black and white)

The current Opal Foundation logo is at the top of the page, they would like something more exciting that reflects their mission.

To enter, send us a high resolution version of your design by email, with your name, age and contact details, by midday on Monday 26th April:
